Hey Folks,

It's been a while since I have written on this blog. My main blog on Wordpress http://theecochicboutique.wordpress.com takes up most of my time. I wish I was writing this article here to tout how great Bonanza is but, alas I am not. This will be my last post to this blog. The statement above in the title box no longer holds true.

It has come to light that yet another immature member of the Bonanza (formerly Bonanzle) staff has made yet another crude blunder. Bonanza has already lost many many good and reputable sellers for much less than what I am about to share with you here. But, you need to know. I DO NOT recommend that you set up your online selling operation on Bonanza. The management is full of immature, crude and ignorant people.

How would you feel about this? While doing my usual thing on FB I see the person hired to do the social media duties on Bonanza has also posted on a thread I am on. I think cool! A Bonanza employee! I will request friendship. This is the message I am sent by the social media rep:

Imagine my surprise upon receiving a friend request from you, as you appear to be an animal; it was my understanding that animals other than Homo sapiens sapiens lacked the cognitive faculties social media requires. Either I have been grossly mistaken, or you are an unusually intelligent canine. A canine lives with me—he eats cat shit from the litter box. With your exceptional intelligence, I wonder, do you eat cat shit from the litter box when the opportunity is presented?

I do hope you’re the type of beast who accepts constructive criticism with grace. Please don’t think me rude for saying so, but we humans usually use Facebook for befriending people we know in person. I can’t remember meeting a genius dog, and I think that’s something I would remember. I understand why you might be seeking friendship outside of your peers, given your anomalous IQ, but I thought you might like to know.

This is the very person hired to be our social media rep. Sweet huh?? Would one not think if they were hired for that type of position that they may have people sending friend requests and to have the god given brains to see if perhaps the requester was a part of the site you work on?

To say I am beyond offended is putting it mildly. If he said this crap to me who else that are buyers and sellers has he responded to in this manner?

Oh and the "Official Response" is weak and unbelievable!

Alex Berg: Hi everyone. I understand the frustration and anger, and I am not making light of this, but I want to try to clear the air on a few things.

Jeremy was using his personal Facebook account and was responding to a request from someone who he ...thought was an old friend and was playing along. I assure you that he would not have responded as such if he thought the communication was in any way Bonanza-related. He sent a very heart-felt apology directly to Sofy once he was made aware of the error.

Let me add my own apology here as well. Sofy, I’m sorry you were spoken to in such a fashion. This is not the manner in which we speak to people in the community. If I thought Jeremy was being malicious in any way towards anyone in the Bonanza community please believe me that swift action would be taken.

Did he make a mistake in assuming it was a friend? Yes. Should he have checked who it was first? Yes. Regrettably, he made an honest, and now very public, mistake. I can assure you he has learned a lot from this.

Thank you for your understanding. I hope you'll all give him, and Bonanza, the benefit of the doubt that this was a mistake and not a reflection of how Bonanza treats community members.

My DH and I had seen the big 50 come and go. In preparation for his early retirement we purchased a small mobile home on ¾ acre of land. There was just the two of us, two old small dogs, and a 23 year old cat. Too soon the cat died, and within a month the little dogs followed. Very sad around here.

Then about a year after we moved in we were blessed to two children. We rescued two puppies, and two kittens. Our quiet little home is now full to the brim with laughter, barks, and hisses. The Customer Experience... Is Yours "Normal"?

Hello All!

It's been a little while since I sat down to compose a business article but, felt that I had to write this one now due to some experiences I have had recently. I have purchased items from the same seller(s) but, my experience has not been "normalized" so to speak.

Let me start by saying that the experience was not unpleasant, just different.

Let me put it this way, when you shop at a big box store, your experience by and large is the same. Online selling should be no different. If you package your items carefully and in a certain manner you should be consistent. If you put in business cards and thank you cards be consistent.

Send confirmation of shipment details in the same manner / method, within x-time frame - be consistent.

The content should also be consistent - include the same information in the same format as much as possible. This "normalized" or standardized experience for the buyer denotes professionalism and a sense of order and stability in your business.

*Also remember that spell checker is indeed your friend but, your eyes should scan any communication sent to your customers as well one last time before sending.*

Being A Good Steward With The Earth...Earth Day Commeth...April 22nd

OK We all know the saying.."It's not easy being green" I think that's a Kermit the Frog quote but, I can't be sure. The truth of the matter is that it is a choice.

Even small efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle on our part as individuals can make a huge impact toward a greener-cleaner environment for us all and our children, children's children..well you get the idea. Now I am far from a tree hugging hippie chickie type of gal but, I DO believe in being a good steward with what you are blessed with.

We only have one Earth so it's our responsibility to help keep it as clean as we can. So in the spirit of this insight, I have begun to list some "green" items in my store as well as sell organic goods like soaps and other health & beauty products.

I currently carry 3 styles of reusable tote bags (Country Floral Shown Below)
and a rapidly expanding line of organic soaps.

Here's some fast facts about plastic bags and Environmental Impact:

It is used commercially in almost every single shampoo, soap etc..on the shelves today! even "gentle" baby wash! It's residue, when washed down the drains, cause all sorts of issues for wildlife and gets into the ground & water supply.

So why would you bathe in chemicals like that? Chemicals that could even lead to Cancer?!

Probably because, that is what is readily available and cheap and you didn't know any better..

Well let me just say, just like the Earth, there is only one you. You should take care of the only you that you've got.

Hello all! and a very happy Sunday and happy Spring to you as well!
I am writing to you today about one very special seller on Bonanzle. She is caring, helpful, kind and faithfully starts the community sellers thread each & every morning. I figured that she helps all of us out by starting such a great promotional thread that receives lots of traffic for us every day, well...this is the least I could do for her. Frolicnymph has been selling online part-time for several years with 100% positive feedback! That is a feat unto itself! Anyhoo...

Her second booth, HooliePonyRecycle is dedicated to her wonderful equine friend. A young mare who has many serious health issues due to human neglect. You see, Frolic took on this huge financial and emotional burden to help this horse that others had just given up hope on. Hoolie Pony is doing so much better under Frolic's care but will require ongoing vet care for her many issues due to her past trials.
Frolic told me once that she hopes to one day actually be able to ride her! That will be a glorious day indeed!

For two reasons. To help with the cost of the vet bills and to recycle and be a good steward with the Earth. Frolic is always conscious of helping wherever and whenever she can. Frolic looks forward to sharing her findings and experiences with other "Equine Guardians" in a Hoolie Pony Blog soon.

I'm Late...I'm Late.... Quote The White Rabbit

Hey Folks, Sorry I'm late with this post. I usually try to post every Sunday. Lots going on lately so this is the first opportunity I have had to put this post together. Today I will feature not a single Bonanzler but, hopefully help ALL Bonanzlers with knowing what to sell /when.

Oh there is no magic formula and I am not promising magic results however, if you pay attention, there are definite trends out there that you can track. If you do not already have a footprint in a niche market,Wait..what?...what is a niche? and you've never seen one at the market? oh ok... sorry.. here's a little snippet on that.

Niche Market: is the subset of the market on which a sp ecific product is focusing; therefore the market niche defines the specific product features aimed at satisfying specific market needs, as well as the price range, production quality and the demographics that is intended to impact.

Let's say you have a sporting goods passion but you want to specialize in golf - or selling golf equipment etc.. that's one example...or you sell to hobbyists who fly those electric planes. OK onward now :)

Like I was saying, there's no one magic formula to know what to sell/when but if you pay attention to trends, they can potentially tell you what is going to be "The Next Big Thing" etc.. I set my Google alerts for specific subjects that interest me and label them with the words like Next, Hot, Big, Trend in the alert. This brings up another important note. Timing, to be ahead of the competition, as far as the latest, greatest thing goes, timing is important when dealing with hot, new trends - you do not want to be late with getting on the boat or it will sail without you.
Example: Who knew that crocs would be so darned popular huh?! they look like cheap plastic/rubber and are kinda ugly but man did they soar in popularity for a few reasons. The medical community LOVE 'em they're comfy and lightweight and perfect for people who work long hours on their feet. They are easy to get on and off like slippers so they were popular with moms and kids too!

My Google Alerts are working for me so far and I have settled on two lines of merchandise to "specialize" in based upon my own interests and trends I have analyzed.

1.) Making my own Christian artisan jewelry (because I am Christian and have a passion for my Lord and I was darn good jewelry smithing in College and wasting talent is a "sin" *SMILE*

2.) I will sell eco-friendly products, reusable totes, orgnaic soaps and other bath and beauty products that are both good for you and the environment. I have a passion for being a good steward with what I have been blessed with so it fits my lifestyle and my nature. I have begun converting my booth over to these products now.

As for what YOU may want to do, first ask yourself these questions. What do I personally enjoy? What do I know/care about? Can I convey that excitement / pass that passion on in my marketing?
Then seek out what products that you can sell that fits your interests and personality (do alot of Googling). Then branding becomes that much easier. Pause for another definition...

Branding: Entire process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product (good or service) in the consumers' mind, through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. Branding aims to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retains loyal customers.

My booth name is Patti's Pretty N Precious Store - thus far I have been pretty successful with associating my booth and items that are "pretty and precious" things that make you go, oh that's pretty or ahhhh how precious..I have a pink banner that resembles the color of Pepto Bismol but with a pretty font, a princess crown and a little girl's castle picture frame - well you get the idea.

With my new lines of merchandise however, I may have to work on re-branding myself to convey my new products and their eco-friendly "personality" we'll see... it can be difficult to re-invent oneself in the online world. Heck, It's difficult enough to become "known" among so many other "voices" out there vying for attention, clientele, sales etc.. so my final recommendation to you consists of a checklist.

Here's Mine.

What are my passions interests?
What can I sell that fits with that passion/interest?
Research, research, research - the best products, best wholesale deals etc...this research includes purchasing small amounts / samples of the products to gage quality, timeliness of shipping etc..
Research, research, reseacrh - SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and how you can implement those strategies to your listings.

What will my start up costs be?

Create a business plan and budget try to stick to it (there are many resources on the net to help you with this)
Set goals (if x product does not sell in 30 days mark down x amount - sell at flea market etc..)
Keep profits in a separate account from personal funds to let the business build the business and you can evaluate where you stand, weekly, monthly etc..
Develop rapport with your suppliers - do not keep them at arms length - afterall you wouldn't open up a brick and mortar business with a total stranger would you? It pays to do your homework and develop a relationship.

Where are my potential customers?

How do I reach them? i.e.) Have I joined groups / organizations where my customers are?
Am I active in those circles?
Social Networking / Activities Online (Twitter, Facebook, Plumdrop, Bonanzle Network, eHow, Squidoo, Blogging etc.. )
Develop a presence online. Blogging is a great way to develop your persona (folks get to know you) and gain followers and hopefully customers and repeat customers.

Gage Success

Network with other sellers and cross promote whenever/wherever possible.
Keep abreast of traffic trends via Google Analytics or other online tools.
Join link referral services (many reputable FREE ones out there)
Advertise in the local paper, put business cards, flyers around town where you are allowed etc..

These are the steps that I have taken thus far and they are working for me. I hope that you have found this late blog helpful. I will have to add to my checklist set my alarm to get my blog out on time.
Remember to set your Google alerts - don't be late for the next trend!
AND set your clocks ahead 1 hour this Saturday night! March 13th so you're not late for anything on Sunday.

We (the sellers / booth owners of Bonanzle) affectionately refer to the management staff of Bonanzle as "The Boyz" This is a little blog to explain for those who are new to and or not a part of Bonanzle yet just who these boyz are and what they do.

OK First up we have Bill Harding. Founder of Bonanzle and Chief programmer of all things new and exciting at Bonanzle. Bill tirelessly programs new and exciting features and tools for us to use and ooooh and ahhhh over. Right now in the works he has teased us as only he can, with a small reference to "progress on the next big thing" one can only speculate as to what this thing is...Hey Bill! just a lil' hint pwease?!!! c'mon man we're all droolin' can ya throw us a lil' tidbit?

Bill in a nut-shell (big nut uh.. no offesne Bill) is the "Wizard of Bonz" doing all sorts of neato stuff behind the curtain to constantly improve upon the site and make the Bonanzle experience a super duper one for buyers and sellers alike. Being in Seattle I imagine he drinks lots of coffee to keep going. There's a theory on Bonanzle that Bill, is somehow attached to a computer 24/7 and hardly sleeps. So Bill if you read this, can you elaborate on the implanted computer thing? or finally put that rumor to rest? Thanks! :)

Next up we have Mark Dorsey. According to his profile, he is the Co-Founder and “Chief Raconteur” for Bonanzle. What the heck kind of job description goes with that title? Definition of raconteur here What The Heck Is That?! (you're welcome!)
Well....let's see (Mark please forgive me if I leave anything out) for starters it seems that he answers all support e-mails (I've sent a ~~few~~ uh...several so far *SMILE*) and Mark responds within a very short period of time. He was recently a guest on the RRB Radio Show on Talkshoe - The River The Ranch and The Bay (Bonanzle is referred to as The Ranch) You can listen to it here: RRB Radio 02/24/2010 (you're welcome again)
Also he has been known to pop into a few booths to say hey or see what's goin' on around Bonz.
He participates in and monitors forums and all kinds of other Bonanzley ________ things! (other duties assigned goes in the blank)

He says (again from his profile) that his goal is "To make sure that your experience at Bonanzle is so good that you want to tell all your family and friends about us" and "If you ever have any questions or concerns you can send them to support@bonanzle.com and we will do everything we can to assist you" So far Mark, you're doin' a great job and we thank you!

Third on the list is Tom Halfacer- Monitors the site for fake merchandise, or merchandise that otherwise doesn't adhere to our item policies. Gets it removed so Bonanzle remains a safe place to transact. He helps guide and direct our booth sellers with helpful tips on how to optimize their listings for the highest possible search engine results, and maximum sales. other than the afore mentioned things, Tom is a bit of an enigma. Bonanzle...The Promised Land For The eBay Exodus?

Well folks..I am two days late with this post for a few reasons so first off I apologize for my tardiness in the update of my Bonanzle blog. Secondly, I have a very good excuse for my tardiness - I have been waiting to see if I could count all of the newcomers from eBay to Bonanzle before my update. They are coming in so fast & furious that alas, I had to give up and just post my update so here it is..enjoy!

I have noticed in the last few days the forums on Bonanzle are a-buzz with new life, new blood, new products and sellers from eBay. After the recent announcements of the new fee structure, there has been an exodus of sorts from "the dark side" as some refer to it. Due to this exodus, it appears that Bonanzle has become a HUGE benefactor. This means that not only does Bonanzle benefit from having more sellers with more and diverse products in the offering but, it also means that those seller's customers will also likely follow.

Bonanzle's forums are alight with thread after thread of titles like "Hello From Another Newbie Leaving FeeBay!" and "Hello Bonanzle Goodbye Feebay!" etc... This has prompted one of our dear Bonanzle Sellers to create a very helpful, humorous and insightful thread entitled:

There are more and more former eBay sellers, even Power Sellers that have sold there successfully for YEARS! that are leaving in favor of greener, less complex and restrictive pastures like Bonanzle.

What an enormous benefit to Bonanzle given the level of sellers that are choosing "The Ranch" as their new main venue for sales. In my opinion, I feel that we can all benefit from these voices of experience and in turn we can offer them the hospitality, comfort and friendliness that they are so thirsty for.

I truly hope that the influx continues. I for one, am always willing to learn and to have these seasoned sellers on The Ranch is truly a windfall! I am sorry on a personal level that these sellers have had to say "enough!" and in effect start over in many ways - However; on a professional level, I am ecstatic that they were brave enough to draw the line and close their doors "over there" and venture onto Bonanzle for a fresh start.

So to you former eBay sellers, I say, lay your "Bay" burdens down and welcome to "The Ranch"!

Bonanzle's New Editor

Well Happy Sunday! Time for another spotlight on a Bonanzler (is that a word?) well..I guess it is now *smile*
The Bonanzler highlighted this week is one of THE most helpful and professional not to mention intelligent folks on our beloved selling venue. His name is JS Geare. He offers insight and help with so many technical and troubleshooting issues..wait..what? issues?...why are there issues you say?..

OK well here's the scoop - In the interest of growing Bonanzle and implementing upgrades and improvements to make things even easier for sellers and buyers alike, the "Boyz that be", namely Bill Harding and a few other programmer boyz are very active in making updates to Bonanzle.
This being the case, of course you're going to have minor glitches as everyone does not have the same OS (Operating System) or browser etc... and there is NO way to code against all of the variables for each individual's set up. The Boyz will roll out the changes and the Bonanzle sellers offer feedback regarding what's working and / or what bugs there may be.

Get it now?...OK good...Now back to JS. Just to give you a small taste of his helpfulness,
this is a snippet he posted this morning in the forums regarding the new HTML editor for listings.

"I have been regulary adding and editing new test items in IE7, Chrome and FF to test various issues each of them has and can tell you that with each passing day, each has fewer and fewer issues. For simple entry of text with no special formatting other than a bullet list, all 3 seem to do pretty well.
But if you are of a mind to add background color, tables, etc., or have a particularly long listing, that’s when some minor annoyances may get in the way. As I write this (Sun AM, Jan 24 2010) IE7 seems to have the fewest issues (for me, anyway). I was able to quickly create a table, set up the cells with various different text types, create bullet lists quickly and easily and the result displayed properly when saved.
Bottom line: the new editor and the new Full Page Editing window appear to be moving rapidly from Beta to General Release. When complete, this will be among the most visible and most useful upgrades to BONZ, giving users more freedom to be creative with their listings and get them loaded much faster than ever before.

Tragedy In Haiti: UPDATE

Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes! Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti as they continue in their struggle to survive in their devestated land.

Well...this blog is supposed to be dedicated to all things Bonanzley. Well believe it or not, this still relates..
As you all are aware of by now there was a catastrophic earthquake - actually it was a series of earthquakes that struck the tiny nation of Haiti on January 12th, 2010 and just about decemated this already impoverished nation.

The Bonanzle Connection:
Many people on Bonanzle are of Christian faith and have been praying for Haiti and it's people.
There is one person on Bonanzle in particular whom this tragedy has effected in a "close to home" way.

First, there was her church missions group who were in Haiti at the time the earthquake struck.
After much scrambling and even an interview by Good Morning America at Haiti's destroyed airport, they have now made it back to Miami and are tired but no worse for wear after many hours of being stranded and down to one ration of crackers & water. Thank God for their safe return to their homes.

who resides in Haiti. She has not heard anything of her since the earthquake. Rockin Randy Really Does Rock!

Bonanzle.com has a lot of super helpful folks that really make Bonanzle feel like family. A true community of sellers networking together to encourage and foster success among peers. The more experienced sellers mentoring those new to online selling or just new to the Bonanzle site.

One of these many folks is Rockin Randy http://www.bonanzle.com/booths/rocknrandy he is a fellow seller and go to guy for many things on Bonanzle. Whenever a new person comes on board and says "hello" in the forums - he is always there to welcome them. Below is an example of the friendly and helpful greeting that is so typical of Randy.

Rockin Randy and many others like him - who I will be highlighting in the coming weeks are just one of the many many reasons why Bonanzle.com is gaining ground on the competition and getting noticed as a very up and coming online presence. Bill Harding and Mark Dorsey and the rest of the "boyz" as we affectionately like to call them are the driving force behind the site itself. However, it's folks like Rockin Randy that gives life to Bonanzle and makes it alive and inviting - interesting and helpful.

Well 2010 is upon us and there have been some more changes to Bonanzle's "look & feel"

Some LOVED the changes, others not so much. All in all it is my personal and professional opinion that Bonanzle is headed in the right direction with the changes & enhancements that are being made.

I feel that patience and positive feedback from the seller community to the "Boyz" is key for success.
Bonanzle has enjoyed tremendous growth over its very first year in operation. I would say to my fellow Bonanzlers who read this blog that Rome wasn't built in a day.

How nifty is it that we sellers are helping to shape Bonanzle!?

By providing our professional feedback to the "boyz" we are directly responsible for helping to grow & shape the selling venue that we have chosen to be a part of.

Just like the afore mentioned empire, Bonanzle will be not "built" in a day and in fact, Bonanzle will never be "built" ever. What in the heck am I talking about now?! Well, what I mean by that is, due to the ever changing landscape of technology, the Internet, and competition, Bonanzle will never stop growing & changing in order to keep pace with these and many many factors and conditions that make up the modern market space.

So to those who have felt "growing pains" and have groaned, I say, take a few ibuprofens and hang in there! Bonanzle will be ever growing and ever-changing according to the needs of buyers and sellers Online. I am sure that the "Boyz" as we so affectionately call them will be busy fellows in 2010...I can't wait to see what else awaits us on Bonanzle!

In Laredo, Texas the B. Daltons book store is closing.. It is among 49 others nationwide that Barnes & Noble will close by next year. With a population of nearly a quarter-million people, this city might soon be the largest in the nation without a single bookseller. This has residents shocked of course but it’s a sign of the times and a definite sign of a limping economy. When a national chain can’t keep the doors open in a city of that many souls, it points directly to overhead versus profits (as we saw in part one of this article). People in that city may well have to begin buying books on the Internet.

Which brings us to part two of our focus on online selling. While it isn’t for everyone, selling online has enabled many small business people to hold their own in a world where major national corporations are floundering and cutting back on overhead such as employee’s and their wages.

The online seller doesn’t have to have anything more than a room in their home with a computer and Internet connection to be able to present a variety of items for sale online. In fact, they don’t even have to have a separate room other than whatever one their computer is in. There are companies that offer wholesale merchandise and even ship direct to the customer (termed drop shipping). So for the online seller life can be as complicated or uncomplicated as they wish and still allow them to generate a profit sitting comfortably in their own home – and in their “jammies” if they wish.

But even the online marketing venues are evolving and shifting. Steve Kundert of Kbarrd’s Old Vintage Antique Goods concurs. He sells a variety of gently used items and vintage collectibles at a number of online venues including eBay and Bonanzle.

“I have seen countless changes to the antiques and collectibles market in the 30 plus years I have been in the business. My online sales have slowed from the heady heydays of eBay in the early 90's, to the current online market as it exists today. At one point in the mid 90s, I was doing 35 to 40 high end antique shows per year. For two years, I even had my own website selling mostly old cowboy gear...spurs, bits, etc. In that two years, I sold nearly 250 pair of spurs and other assorted items...business was great. Not so anymore. The problem was, and still is, finding the items at a reasonable price to be able to turn a profit.

Resellers can't compete with the collectors who are willing to pay premium prices. The other problem is lower numbers of buyers. While there are certainly sales happening in the antiques and collectible arena, the pace has slowed down substantially. With the economy in the state it is, more online buyers have turned to filling their "needs" instead of their "wants". The amount of discretionary money people have to spend is much less than it was, even to the point of it being nonexistent for some. That being said, there are still sales to be made and buyers out there who are willing to buy what we have to sell. We just have to be more creative in seeking out the available dollars.

Sites such as eBay and Amazon are still an option, but I see more and more sellers seeking out venues such as Bonanzle because of the lower overhead. While Bonanzle offers no listing fees and much lower FVF's, (final value fees), there are not nearly the number of buyers that the other well known sites have...that is the trade-off. Marketing and advertising is left almost entirely up to the individual sellers, and the amount of time and resources to do so simply is not an option for some. The old saying, 'The more you put into it, the more you get out of it', has never been truer. People are blogging, listing on Craigslist, Twittering, and submitting their sites to free listing opportunities and some have even taken out print ads to get their name out there.

While there are a myriad of places each individual seller can advertise their "booths", it is also essential for sites such as Bonanzle to let the buyers know they even exist. eBay and Amazon are so ingrained in the American psyche as a brand, cracking that nut can be daunting...but in my opinion, it must be at least attempted. How did they got so well known? They advertised...a lot! Until that time comes, Bonanzle will continue to be a "friendly" social site that also offers items for sale. There are sales being made every day, but there could, and should, be so many more.

My business goal right now is to continue to advertise as best I can, "hang in there", and hopefully the economy will turn around bringing the buyers back with it. Until there is more money available for 'wants', people will continue to fill their 'needs'."

Patti of Patti’s Pretty N Precious Store says, “My number one goal is to build my online business to the extent that it may help support my husband and I at least 50% financially as we build a non-profit organization to rescue abused and neglected horses, rehabilitate them and pair them with abused and neglected children.

My main advice to people who are considering selling online is to do the research first, formulate a plan and do your very best to stick to that plan – if it made sense to you when you started but business conditions or your own personal conditions have changed then of course you would have to alter your plan accordingly – but if you have done your research and planned thoughtfully and carefully, you should not have to deviate from it too much.

My personal plan had to be tweaked slightly, but is doing very well for me now. A tremendous asset that I leverage is Google Analytics and Google Alerts. In order to know where you are going, you need to be able to see trends and align strategy to that market/target area. It is not possible to be successful online and “fly blind”.

The tagline for my Bonanzle booth is “Everything That Is Pretty And Precious”. I research, and buy, accordingly to reflect that one line. I keep my vision very simple and do not vary from keeping the pretty and precious in mind when searching for new items to add to my booth.

I am currently in the process of building my own web site and storefront and cannot wait to launch it in the Spring of 2010. It will contain an area where people can donate money or items to sell to the “Lord’s Lead Line” (our soon to be non-profit organization) to raise money for the charity for the upkeep and overall needs for the kids and horses.

I just learned that Linkedin.com can be a leveraged as a great marketing tool. Be careful not to SPAM but, you can get your products out there via your own network and beyond.

For a small fee, she will host a live auction in your booth (that's what the little stores on Bonanzle are called - isn't that cute?!) anyway...Ellen will host a live auction and even gives away door prizes and prizes from contests & drawings at YOUR auction from HER own inventory!!! FREE!!! isn't THAT helpful!?

Bonanzle: Not just another Internet selling venue.

Bonanzle is....
A neat little place on the Internet where folks actually cross-promote each other and their products and services. It is like a street fair at it's best. No lisitng fees! minimal fees once you sell something. I have only been on Bonanzle for a week but, it looks & feels great.
Very refreshing to have folks actually HELP each other succeed.
I decided to have a little 15% off sale in my booth
One person volunteered to Twitter my goods (I didn't know how) and she did!
Another offered to post my sale to the forum and she did - and do you know what?! 140 people visited my "booth" (that's what the little stores are called) and I sold stuff! It was great!!
